Dubai Airshow Facility
Dubai’s airshow facilities moved to Al Maktoum International (DWC) in 2013 as DAEP executed Strategic Plan 2020. The Dubai Airshow Facility was built within the same year to host the then largest-ever edition of the event. It seamlessly integrates exhibition space, pavilions, a Majlis, a mosque, parking spaces and public areas for spectating. It also has its own control tower.
Foundation
As the Dubai Airshow completes its 2011 edition with record attendance from companies and participants from across the globe, the groundwork for a more expansive facility at DWC begins.
Inauguration
Construction of the new facility is completed, with standard-setting facilities, just in time to host the 2013 edition of the Dubai Airshow. The exhibition space also has several chalets and pavilions for delegates from around the world.
Development
After 2020, the course will be set for the next round of upgrades and enhancements. The facility will continue to grow as the event draws more and more aviation companies and enthusiasts from across the globe.

About This Project
Building a base for tomorrow’s aviation technology
As need grew for a larger airshow exhibition area and more aircraft space at Dubai International Airport (DXB), a strategic decision was made to shift all airshow facilities to DWC. This made room for airshow space at DXB to convert to remote stands. The new facility was constructed by reusing material and salvageable infrastructure from the old facility.
DAEP made modifications to create more room for exhibitors, visitors and display planes. Eighty-five chalets and pavilions were developed for country-specific exhibitions, open-air walkways were built to navigate between pavilions, and exhibition halls were constructed for larger aircraft. Service and reception buildings were built to welcome guests and provide detailed event information. Infrastructure for a luxurious Royal Pavilion was also constructed to host VIP guests and high-level executives, including CEO and Chairman levels. DAEP will continue to develop and expand on the Dubai Airshow facility to showcase cutting-edge aviation engineering from the UAE and the world.
The permanent facility will be located within DWC’s Aviation District. As the city continues to lead the way for the world’s aviation, DAEP will continue to upgrade and expand the facility to showcase the most cutting-edge technology.
