Central Utility Complexes

The Dubai Airport Central Utility Complexes (CUCs) are constructed to house the chilled water and power supply plants for the Dubai International Airport expansion (phase II), which will consist of the addition of four new CUCs distributed within the airport to serve the new Concourse B, Concourse A, Terminal 3, Terminal 2 expansion, the Cargo Mega Terminals and the Dubai Flower Center.

The chilled water plants consist of water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, district chilled water distribution piping and ancillaries, with capacity totaling up to 100,000 tons of refrigeration. The electrical power supply system will involve the addition of three new 132 kV substations, switchgears, transformers and 132 kV power distribution cabling, with capacity totaling up to 210 MVA.
