The passenger terminal building has been designed to host 5 million passengers per annum (Mppa) with a possible expansion to 7 Mppa. This new facility is a bus-operated terminal/concourse building and is designed for a low transfer rate, in full compliance with ICAO standards. The building consists of three spaces, as described below.
The Departure Building is 210 meters long and 90 meters wide and houses the public hall for departures, the check-in hall and related services, as well as the departure baggage handling system (BHS) and all airline offices.
The Arrival Building is 210 meters long and 90 meters wide and holds the public hall for arrivals, the baggage claim area and related services, as well as the arrival BHS. The departure and arrival buildings are linked by a large public hall along the 450-meter curbside.
The Concourse is 120 meters wide and 255 meters long, centralizes security controls for departing passengers from the main building, and hosts the boarding lounges, the transfer lounge, the duty-free area, catering services and all the central technical rooms. A partial mezzanine hosts the airside restaurant and CIP lounge on the air side, along with the management offices accessible from the land side only.
