    DAEP meets UK Trade & Investment of the British Embassy

    DAEP hosted the UK Trade & Investment and a delegation of 70 British businesses last Tuesday, 28 October 2014, at the Royal Pavilion of the Al Maktoum International.

    DAEP CEO Suzanne Al Anani welcomed the UKTI delegation headed by HM Consul General Ed Hobart.

    The highlights of the event included the Introduction of the Consul General, followed by DAEP presentation on the Al Maktoum International Airport (Phase II) Master plan which also included the Passenger terminal and other support facilities. Discussions regarding contractual terms and conditions, procurement methodology and package splits were among the topics discussed. A presentation on behalf of the UK’s five largest contractors (Carillion, Balfour Beatty Kier, Interserve, Laing O’Rouke) was also conducted during the event followed by brief pitches made by around 50 companies ranging from security experts, to specialist manufacturers and providers of airport systems. The event ended with Q&A portion wherein any issues or clarifications were addressed.

    UKTI and the other delegates thanked DAEP for a very successful event.
